Frequently Asked Questions

What motorcycle will I need for the NRAA

Any reliable dual-sport or ADV motorcycle capable of a 7100 mile trip will work. There is no interstate highway riding on the NRAA, so long miles at highway speed isn't an issue.

Is there camping available along the route?

Riders should be able to find camping available for the entire trip. There is a mix of private and public campgrounds and dispersed, wildland camping can be found, especially in the western states of the NRAA.

How long will it take and when should I ride it?

THe NRAA was designed for riders with time to really see America. If you ride 7 hours a day, it will take you about six week. Two months might be the best abount of time to budget. Because it is in the north, leaving the start in Maine heading west no earlier than mid-May is recommended.
